In this chapter Hart is trying to explain the existence of God and how He is the one true God. He mainly tries to point out how atheism is " a fundamentally irrational view of reality." (15) Atheists believe in naturalism but the fact of the matter is that even natural properties were created firstly by something, that was/is in fact, unnatural. What makes me so indifferent to atheists is that how can you not believe in something that never existed in the first place? This is basically what Hart is arguing that God is "the one infinite source of all that is eternal....perfectly transcendent of all things and for that very reason absolutely immanent to all things."(30) He also states that there are no other gods other than the one true God. I personally agree with Hart in his opinion that atheism is an " irrational view of reality" because everything comes from something. I also agree with him about polytheistic religion not being the true religion and that there is only on transcendent and that is God. I also don't understand how one can have evidence of God existing but it still not be believable.

"Everything comes from something" is a reason that maybe some people dont believe in God because if everything comes from something but then you say that God is the central being that just came to existence and no real origin is clear onto where he could have come from that they would give room to doubt his existence in the first place
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jessica. It may be point blank to us ,but many people just need more solid evidence to believe in some things. It may be clear because we have a different type of understanding of God and his relationship to everything, but I think that Hart's purpose is to explain this understanding to everyone.
